Mārketinga nedēļu koordinatoru tikšanās LU FTBS 2026.gada oktobrī

From 7 to 9 October, the University of Latvia FinTech Business School (UL FTBS) hosted representatives of European Higher Education Institutions from 16 countries in Riga. They met to plan international business weeks in marketing field and discussed opportunities for cooperation among students and academic staff.

International Business Weeks are a format for cooperation between European Higher Education Institutions. Business schools and universities from different countries organise short-term international study programmes that bring together students, lecturers and representatives of the business community. These weeks give students the opportunity to gain international study experience without taking part in a full-semester exchange programme. Such events usually last three to five days, during which the host institution develops a themed programme. Topics may include international marketing, entrepreneurship, financial technology, sustainability, innovation and other areas of business education.

The main purpose of the meeting in Riga was to coordinate the international business weeks in marketing field, planned for the spring semester of 2027. These will be organised as Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs).

Aiga Anitena, the UL FinTech Business School Project Manager, explains that these business weeks give students the opportunity to learn in an international environment, collaborate with students and lecturers from other universities, and gain a broader study experience. She adds that the partner network strengthens cooperation between higher education institutions, enables them to exchange experience and lays the groundwork for new collaborative initiatives.

The meeting in Riga was attended by representatives of UCLL Leuven-Limburg and EPHEC University College in Belgium; International Business Academy in Denmark; Universidad Europea de Valencia in Spain; University of Applied Sciences for Business & Society BFI Vienna in Austria; IUT de Saint-Denis, Université Sorbonne Paris Nord in France; Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences in Germany; The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands; Solent University in the United Kingdom; and LAB University of Applied Sciences in Finland. Representatives of Munster Technological University in Ireland joined the meeting remotely.

Applications are now open for UL FTBS students wishing to take part in the international business weeks planned for the spring semester. Find more information here.
